AKRON, Ohio — Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a 1-year-old child dead and two adults injured.
Officers responded to a home in the 1200 block of 5th Av around 9:30 PM Sunday night for a shooting.
An unknown suspect fired shots at the home, striking the child. The child was transported to Summa Akron City Hospital and later died.
A man and woman were also struck during the shooting. They were transported to the hospital and treated for what is considered non-life threatening injuries.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending positive identification and family notifications.
No suspect description was available, and there have been no arrests made.
Investigators believe a newer black or dark colored Dodge Ram Pickup is possibly involved.
