Victims ID’ed In Dallas Cowboy Tour Bus Crash That Killed 4

The four victims from the fatal collision have been identified as Chinese National Citizens that were visiting the United States.

The driver of the van was a 52-year-old male. Two of the passengers were 52-year-old females and a third passenger was a 19-year-old female.

Next of kin notification has not been completed. The investigation determined that the van failed to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign and was struck by the motor coach. All occupants of the van were wearing safety restraints at the time of the collision.

Kingman, Ariz. – An early afternoon collision occurred on State Route 93 at milepost 41(intersection of State Route 93 and Pierce Ferry
Road). A van, turning left onto Pierce Ferry Road collided with a motor coach.

On July 24, 2016, at about 1:39 p.m. a Dodge van, with a driver and three passengers, was traveling southbound on State Route 93 near the intersection of Pierce Ferry Road, milepost 41. A motor coach was traveling northbound on State Route 93. The van turned left across the traffic lanes to access Pierce Ferry Road. The van and motor coach collided in the intersection causing both vehicles to run off the road. Three females and one male in the van died at the scene from their injuries. The occupants of the motor coach were uninjured in the collision.

The investigation of this collision is on-going. As part of that investigation an inspection of the motor coach will be performed by commercial vehicle inspectors from the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Notification of next of kin is pending.

Lt. Col. Dan Lugo, Assistant Director of the Highway Patrol Division at AZDPS stated, “Any loss of life while traveling on the road is heartbreaking and tragic. When driving on our highways and byways drivers need to always be cautious and aware of road and traffic condition around them.”
