At least six people have beenĀ killed and at least three others were reported missing after torrential rain hit central Texas throughout the weekend.

Four bodies were discovered in Washington Country, Texas, and another found on Saturday in Travis County.

At least two people are missing including an 11-year-old boy who disappeared while fishing with his friends in the Brazos River.

2,600 inmates were evacuated from the Terrel and Stringellow units in Rosharon after the Brazos River flooded this weekend.

All three prisons are in the coastal Brazoria County, where the river enters the Gulf of Mexico.

‘TDCJ officials continue to monitor the situation and are working with our state partners as the river level rises,’ a spokesperson said.

The rain caused damage, including the collapse of the roof of the Bandera Bulleting.

‘The skies are clear and things look good. But we want to make sure people understand that we are not out of the woods yet. We have to keep an eye on water that’s coming through our bayou system,’ said Francisco Sanchez, a spokesman for the Office of Emergency Management in Harris County.
