9 Brains Found Near Train Tracks In New York

GOUVERNEUR, New York — Nine brains were found Wednesday on a street near railroad tracks in Upstate New York, police said.

A family made the discovery and called Police. The brains, believed to be from dogs or sheep, were meant to be used for educational purposes. Police say no criminal activity is suspected in the incident.

A local veterinarian said at least one of the brains was professionally removed and preserved in formaldehyde, the AP reported.

In 2014, 100 Brains went missing from a University in Texas.

Gouverneur is a town in St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. The population was 7,085 at the 2010 census. The town is named after statesman and landowner Gouverneur Morris. The Town of Gouverneur contains a village named Gouverneur.
