10 Dead And At Least 100 Injured After Two Trains Collide In Germany

Nine people have died and at least 100 have been injured after two commuter trains collided.

Two trains full with rush hour passengers collided head-on near Bad Aibling, in Bavaria at around 6:50am.

Police officials confirmed that there are a total of nine fatalities and at least 100 injures.

A total of 15 people have suffered life threatening injuries and 40 have been severely injured.

One of the trains derailed in the crash and several carriages overturned after the collision.

The incident took place on a single-track rail, Deutsche Bahn are now investigating what the cause of the crash was.

Rescue helicopters were dispatched and had to carry people on a rope across the Mangfall river.

A police spokesperson said: ‘This is the biggest accident we have had in years in this region and we have many emergency doctors, ambulances and helicopters on the scene.’

The horrific train crash took place in Bad Aibling, south of Munich, not far from the Austrian border.
