NEW YORK — A 9-year-old girl reportedly hanged herself Saturday inside her Bronx home.
According to the New York Post, the girl’s ‘body was discovered shortly before noon Saturday inside her room at her Bronx River Houses apartment on East 174th Street, hanging from her bed with a belt around her neck.’
The news outlet reported the girl’s death followed an argument with her mother over cell phone usage.
The mother found the girl hanging and called police. As they waited on first responders to arrive, the girl’s brother performed CPR.
She was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing.
