Johnson declined a final prayer and refused to record a final statement.

According to The Associated Press, his last meal request for a six pack of beer was denied. He refused his last meal.

Johnson was sentenced to death for the 1994 murder of Angela Sizemore in Dougherty County.

There have been 58 men and one woman executed in Georgia since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1973.

Johnson was the 36th inmate put to death by lethal injection. There are presently 77 men on death row in Georgia.
