ALERT: 220,000 Pounds of Frozen Cooked Chicken Recalled

Livingston, Calif. – Foster Farms is initiating a voluntary Class I recall of select packages of Frozen Cooked Chicken Breast Nuggets. This is due to the possibility that extraneous foreign material (rubber fragments, plastic) may be present, which could present a choking hazard. No reports of illness or injury have been associated with these products.

This recall only involves Foster Farms Frozen Cooked Chicken Breast Nuggets sold in 5-lb. club sized bags at select West Coast Costco locations in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah and Washington, and as 10-lbs. bulk boxes to non-retail wholesale distributors in California and Arizona.

This recall only involves Frozen Cooked Chicken Breast Nugget packages with the following plant codes and dates:

5-lb retail bags listing plant code P-33901 and “best by” date of 2-21-17
5-lb retail bags listing plant code P-33901 and “best by” date of 3-8-17
10-lb wholesale boxes listing plant code P-33901 and Julian date 6053
10-lb wholesale boxes listing plant code P-33901 and Julian date 6068
Consumers who have purchased the recalled products should not consume them. Recalled products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Foster Farms discovered this issue through consumer product feedback. The company isolated the issue to one specific production line at the Farmerville facility. In total, 5,563 cases (220,450 lbs.) of product were involved.
