The New Jersey State Police is investigating the theft of a white, unmarked Chevrolet Tahoe troop car, which occurred sometime Saturday evening or early Sunday morning in the area of North Brunswick, Middlesex County.

The troop car was recovered late this morning in North Brunswick. Investigators determined that two weapons and State Police uniforms were stolen from inside the vehicle. The stolen uniforms and weapons may have been used during the commission of at least one armed robbery in Middlesex County earlier this morning. This is an active investigation, and we are continuing to work closely with local law enforcement. There is no further information available at this time.

Anyone concerned or suspicious about the validity of an officer’s identification should call 9-1-1 to report this information and seek confirmation of the officers credentials.
