Jacksonville, Florida — On March 7, 2017 at 2:15pm, police responded to 2000 block of Davis Road in reference to a five month old male baby not breathing. The victim was transported to a local hospital in life threatening condition. Doctors determined the child had internal injuries that resulted from some type of trauma.
The victim was being taken care of by a babysitter, Barbara Kendrick, 65 years old. Suspect Kendrick was brought to the homicide office and interviewed. Suspect Kendrick confessed to throwing the baby with force into his pack-n-play.
On March 7, 2017, the suspect, Barbara Kendrick was charged with Aggravated Child Abuse.
On March 8, 2017 the victim succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. On March 9, 2017, the suspect Barbara Kendrick was charged with Murder.
