BOSTON — A 15-year-old boy was charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Anthony Woodbridge in Roxbury on July 5th.

McKinley Archie was arraigned in Roxbury Municipal Court for the homicide in the area of Ziegler and Warren streets. Judge David Poole ordered him held without bail. Massachusetts courts automatically charge juveniles accused of murder as adults.

Assistant District Attorney Craig Iannini told the court that video footage and witness statements suggest Archie was in a car with two adults at about 9:50 am when the car stopped and McKinley got out. He allegedly approached the victim, and stabbed him in the chest, causing fatal injuries.

An adult also exited the vehicle and intervened. The suspect’s mother pulled McKinley away from the victim and back into the car, which left the area—she is not facing charges.

Witnesses provided the car’s license plate to investigators and identified McKinley from a photo array, leading to his arrest.

Woodbridge was rushed to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead of his injuries. Conley assigned victim-witness advocate Elise McConnell to assist the teen’s family in the aftermath of his homicide.

A motive was unknown.
