WASHINGTON, D.C. — At least one person was shot and killed in a shooting at a D.C. Church Tuesday afternoon.
The shooting happened in the 4900 block of East Capitol Street in Southeast, D.C. at the St. Luke Catholic Church , according to WUSA9.
A white sheet was photographed laying on top of the victim.
Initial reports said there was more than one victim. This is not confirmed.
D.C. Police and homicide detectives are on scene.
It’s unclear if a suspect is in custody. The victim, a male, was not immediately identified.
From NBC Washington: Homicides in the District are up 31 percent over the same time last year. There have been 95 homicides in the city this year. At this time last year, there had been 72 murders.
No further details were available.
