ST. LOUIS – STL County police are investigating a child shot in the 7700 block of Utica.
The deceased child is a 21-month-old male, the department said in a tweet.
A suspect is not in custody.
Police are asking anyone with information in the homicide to call 866-371-TIPS.

This violence against a child comes less than a week after a nine year old girl was shot and killed in St. Louis:
Nine year old Jamyla Bolden was shot and killed by someone shooting at her home in the 9200 block of Ellison Drive in Ferguson about 9:00 PM on Tuesday August 19th. Her mother was wounded as well. Jamyla Bolden, was doing her homework in her mother’s bedroom at the time of the shooting. Police are investigating this Homicide and they need your help to find the subject(s) responsible.
Update…The Fraternal Order of Police, St. Louis County Lodge 15 have added $1000.oo to the Reward for information that leads police to arrest the subject(s) responsible for Jamyla’s homicide.
