TEXAS — Police and other first responders were on the scene of a officer-involved shooting at the Parks Mall in Arlington Sunday evening.
The Arlington police department posted on social media: “Anyone at the Parks Mall is able to go to their vehicle. The incident is under control. The Parks Mall has closed so please avoid the area. Follow instructions from First Responders if inside the mall.” — “We are working an incident at Parks Mall involving an officer-involved shooting. One suspect involved. No suspects outstanding. This is NOT an active shooter incident. It’s related to an offense. @ArlingtonParks Mall is being evacuated by security. Incident under control. “
Police later said a theft suspect ran from a officer before displaying a replica handgun and being shot—his condition is not known. The officer was not injured.
