FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina — UPDATE: All Clear Given at Cross Creek Mall. Man carrying AR-15 inside Macy’s apprehended.
EARLIER: Police say there is one person being “detained” after an active shooter was reported at the Cross Creek Mall in Fayetteville.
Parts of the mall were being evacuated.
Authorities received a report of a man armed with a rifle at Macy’s at about 7 p.m., according to WRAL.
Officials are searching for a possible second suspect.
Photos from ABC11 showed an AR-15 rifle and a bag on the ground near where the suspect was apprehended.
No injuries were reported.
The Fayetteville Police Tweeted: “One subject has been detained after multiple reports of a subject armed with an assault rifle inside of Cross Creek Mall.”
The address is 419 Cross Creek Mall.
Cross Creek Mall is a regional shopping mall located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on the 401 Bypass between Morganton Road and the All-American Freeway. The mall contains over 100 stores and covers over 1,000,000 sq ft. of retail space.
