‘Active Shooter’ Reported at Houston Hospital | Developing Story

TEXAS — Houston police were responding to reports of shots fired at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston Tuesday—the SWAT team has been activated.

According to local media, witnesses reported shots fired on the second floor of the building. More than 200 police officers are on the scene.

The hospital was placed on lockdown as officers armed with long guns were sweeping the building.

Dozens of patients have been evacuated from the hospital.

Police later encountered the suspect on the third floor where he barricaded himself. Negotiations are ongoing.

No injuries have been reported.
