Lancaster, CALIFORNIA — Antelope Valley College was shut down Tuesday due to a threat of violence against the campus.

“All Antelope Valley College locations are closed today (Tue, Dec 1) due to a threat of violence against the college.” The college said in a statement. “The college is in regular contact with law enforcement. Evening class schedule will be updated 4 p.m.”

According to reports, authorities received reports of possible text threats overnight.

From KTLA: “The texts said things such as, “Something terrible is going to happen,” according to sheriff’s Lt. Derrick Alsred.

He said the campuses in Palmdale and Lancaster received the possible threatening text.

School officials did not provide any details about the alleged threat, but said that the college was in contact with law enforcement.”
