WATCH: Baltimore Police Release Body-Cam Video of Officer-Involved Shooting

MARYLAND — The Baltimore County Police Department has released video from two Body Worn Cameras worn by officers during the December 23 incident in which a man was shot by an officer after he moved at police in a threatening manner.

Just before 11:00 p.m. on December 23, Baltimore County Police officers responded to an apartment in the 4600 block of Debilen Circle 21208 for a disturbance call. Officers knocked on the door of the apartment, which was the source of the call.

A man answered the door with a knife in his hand and moved towards the officers in a threatening manner. One of the officers fired his service weapon at the suspect, striking him once in the upper body.

The suspect was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He has also been charged with several counts of first-degree assault.

The incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit. The Homicide Unit investigates all police involved shootings. After the investigation is complete, the incident will be reviewed by the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The officer involved in the shooting will be on administrative status while the incident is being reviewed.
