Fort Wayne, Indiana police confirm a body found in the Maumee River is former Buffalo Bill James Hardy. A worker made the discovery Wednesday afternoon and alerted police.
A cause of death was unknown and reports say his body was in the water for several days.
According to WIVB, ‘in May of 2014 Hardy was arrested after attacking three officers. A judge ruled that he was not mentally competent to stand trial in a case where he faces a felony charge for resisting arrest during the incident.’
Hardy was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft and played college football at Indiana University.
