Colorado Springs Police Respond To Active Shooter

COLORADO — Colorado Springs police were investigating an “active shooting incident” in the 5700 block of North Academy Blvd. Friday night.

Police said residents in the area should stay inside, away from windows and ‘do not open your doors to strangers.’ A reverse-911 message has been issued to all affected residents in the area.

“Active shooting incident on N. Union Blvd,” Colorado Springs police said in a tweet. “Situation not safe at this time. Several streets in the area are closed, and citizens are asked to avoid the area. Citizens in the area are asked to stay inside and away from windows.” […] “Please stay out of the area/”

It was unclear if anyone has been injured.

According to FOX 21, ‘the incident began around 3:40 p.m., when officers went to serve an outstanding warrant, and the subject of the warrant began shooting.’

The suspect is a white male, in his 30s, around six feet tall, wearing a gray hoodie and light blue jeans.
