A computer outage that stretched from New York to California was affecting travelers at several airports in the U.S. Monday.
The outage brought down systems used by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), causing long lines for passengers.
Airports affected included New York, Miami, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Seattle and Boston–among others. The outage lasted from around 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. U.S. Eastern Standard Time.
“All airports are back on line after a temporary outage of CBP’s processing systems,” Officials said in a statement. “During the disruption, CBP had access to national security-related databases and all travelers were screened according to security standards. No indication the disruption was malicious in nature.”
