DOUGLAS, Arizona –A military aircraft has crashed in Douglas, the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed.
The F-16 is with the Air National Guard 162nd Wing based in Tucson.
The aircraft crashed in Cochise County.
A spokesman would not confirm any details and referred all questions to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
Twitter user @or12tega tweeted this photo saying the crash involved two F-16 fighter jets.
It is unknown how many people were aboard the plane. A “massive fire” has was sparked in the area due to a ruptured gas line, according to Carol Capas, a Cochise County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
It was not clear if the fire was started by the crash.
No further details were available.
