(Video below) — The Cleveland gunman who fatally shot an elderly man on Facebook is dead, police say.

“Steve Stephens was spotted this morning by PSP members in Erie County,” Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement. “After a brief pursuit, Stephens shot and killed himself.”

On Easter Sunday, 74-year-old Robert Godwin, Sr., was shot and killed while walking on a sidewalk in the Glenville neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. The suspect was identified as 37-year-old Steve Stephens, who posted video of the shooting on his Facebook account.

Seconds before the shooting, Stephens asked the victim to say the name of a woman believed to be associated with the suspect. Stephens then said “She’s the reason why this is about to happen to you,” before shooting Godwin, who recoiled and fell to the ground.

Facebook said the video was uploaded to the website, not livestreamed as initially reported. In other Facebook posts, Stephens claimed responsibility for 13 murders, but police said they were not aware of any other victims.
