North Las Vegas, Nevada – One man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 2-month-old child.

On 8/2/15, at about 12:30 a.m., officers were contacted in the 3800 block of Craig Crossing Drive regarding a 2-month-old female infant and her 24-year-old father, identified as Mason Henderson. The 23-year-old mother reported the two missing after she returned home and found her 1-year-old female child alone inside the residence.

Henderson and the 23-year-old female are the biological parents of both children and live together on Craig Crossing Drive.

Later that day, at about 6:30 p.m., The North Las Vegas Detective Bureau was informed that Henderson had been located and was being detained by a neighboring police agency. At about 9 p.m., the investigation into the still missing 2-month-old led officials to the 4000 block of Allen Lane where they located her deceased body inside a trash dumpster.

Evidence showed Henderson to be responsible for the death of the 2-month-old and neglect of the 1-year-old. Henderson was subsequently booked at the Las Vegas City Jail on one count of first degree murder and child endangerment. See the attached booking photo of Henderson below.

The Coroner’s office will release the decedent’s identification and official cause and manner of death following notification of next-of-kin.
