CONYERS, Georgia — Officials in Georgia are investigating shootings at multiple locations that left one dead and at least three others hospitalized.

At around 4:50 PM, a suspect entered the Magnet Bottle Shop located at 4669 Georgia Highway 20 in south Rockdale County. The suspect, who had been involved in an altercation earlier in the day at the store, began firing a gun, shooting multiple people and fatally wounding one.

As deputies responded to the Magnet Bottle Shop, the RCSO also received a call of a person shot at a residence in the 3500 block of Ebenezer Road. When the first deputy arrived, one victim who had been shot ran from the residence to safety while the suspect began firing an assault rifle at the deputy from the garage of the residence. The RCSO deputy returned fire on the suspect.

In total, the suspect shot by the RCSO deputy is believed to have shot 4 people between the two locations.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called to work the deputy-involved shooting, while RCSO investigators are working the homicide at the Magnet Bottle Shop.
