BREAKING: Man Opens Fire on Police In Colorado

NORTHGLENN, Colorado — Police Officers with the Northglenn Police Department shot and injured a suspect Wednesday

The incident happened at Huron Street and West 112th Avenue where Police were responding to a call of a man with a gun.

When the Officers attempted to contact the gunman, he immediately opened fire. No Officers were hit by the gunfire.

Police returned fire and struck the suspect an an unknown amount of times.

The suspect was transported to the hospital. His condition is not known.

The officers have been placed on paid administrative leave until the shooting investigation is completed, which is standard procedure. No other details were released.

54 US police officers have been killed in the line of duty so far in 2015. Last year, a total of 55 Officers were killed, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

Northglenn is a Home Rule Municipality in Adams and Weld counties in the U.S. state of Colorado.
