Fort Walton Beach , Florida — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place around 1:30 this afternoon in west Okaloosa County.
Deputies say a 26-year old man Fort Walton Beach man was shot once in the face on Hilltop Road. He has been taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola via medical helicopter in serious condition.
A suspect has been located in the Gulf Breeze area and is currently being held in Santa Rosa County for questioning.
The shooting scene is only a few hundred feet from the Florosa Baptist Church, as well as an elementary school.
