KANSAS CITY — Two firefighters are dead and more are injured after a structure collapse at a 2nd-Alarm fire at an apartment building in Kansas City.
The scene was at the 2600 block of Independence Blvd.
Three walls collapsed as the blaze raged, according to reports.
According to KMBC, the building was determined to be structurally unsafe and the firefighters were in the process of getting themselves out when it collapsed.
The firefighters rescued two residents before the collapse. No residents of the building were injured.
