Missing Baby Found Dead In Conn. River

MIDDLETOWN, CT. — Press Release — (Initial report below) — Body of infant found in Connecticut River confirmed to be missing seven month old.

Sometime before 8pm tonight, Connecticut State Police responded to the report of a body found in the water by the swing bridge in East Haddam.

It was reported that it is the body of an infant. Middletown Police Detectives worked with Connecticut State Police and have confirmed that body located is that of seven month old Aaden Moreno.

We have not further information at this time. Updates will be sent as they develop.

Our thoughts are with Aaden and his family at this time of sorrow.

EARLIER REPORT: Middletown and State police are searching for a missing baby boy after his father jumped from a bridge into the Connecticut River.

From FoxCT: “Around 11:45 p.m. Sunday night, police received a call that his father, Tony Moreno, 22, was threatening to jump from the Arrigoni Bridge in Middletown. When officers arrived on scene they saw him jump.

The Middletown Fire Department rescued him and transported him to Hartford Hospital where he was in very serious condition initially. His condition has been updated to stable.”
