There was a massive police response to several crime scenes in Rancho Tehama, California Tuesday. Deputies say five people are dead—including the gunman.
A Deputy told local media the shootings took place at several crime scenes and ‘multiple shots’ were fired at the elementary school. According to scanner traffic, children as young as 6 are among the wounded. The Enloe Medical Center in Chico says they’ve received four patients, one adult and three children.
The school has been evacuated as police escorted the children to a safe location. A motive for the attack was not known.

The Corning Union Elementary School District released a statement: “We have had an active shooter incident at Rancho Tehama Elementary this morning. There are confirmed injuries. We are cooperating with law enforcement during this investigation but do not have specific details at this time.”
