FLORIDA — Officers were in a standoff with a gunman at Orlando International Airport Tuesday.

Orlando Police and Orange County Deputies contained the scene at a rental car area in Terminal ‘A’.

According to police, the armed suspect had threatened to do harm to himself and to others.

Passengers were diverted from the area and a crisis negotiator was brought in.

“I couldn’t make out the words but he was screaming really loud,” a witness told the Orlando Sentinel, “Everyone there told me right before this happened a man said to everyone ‘you’re going to need mental therapy after this’ then he pulled out a gun and everyone ran.

The suspect was later taken into custody without incident–no one was injured.

Video appeared to show officers taking cover with weapons drawn.
