MSNBC host Rachel Maddow claims to have obtained President Donald J. Trump’s tax returns from 2005 and revealed the contents Tuesday night.
The White House appeared to break the news before Maddow went on-air, releasing a statement saying President Trump made more than $150 million in income in 2005 and paid $38 million in income taxes that year.
Maddow, an outspoken liberal, teased the news in a tweet: “BREAKING: We’ve got Trump tax returns. Tonight, 9pm ET. MSNBC.

President Trump has said in the past he would release the documents when an IRS audit is complete.
