The U.S. Capitol is on lockdown for a second day after reports of a suspicious package outside of the visitors center.
First Street from Independence Avenue SE to Constitution Avenue NE and East Capitol Street from First to Second streets are closed.
Metro said its buses are also delayed in those areas.
According to a Reuters witness, a bomb squad is now at the scene.
U.S. Capitol Police have confirmed that a suspicious package was discovered.
