North Korean Ambassador to the UN Kim In Ryong says the United States has created a situation in which “thermonuclear war may break out at any moment.”

“[North Korea] is ready to react to any mode of war desired by the U.S.,” he said during a press conference in New York City, Monday.

The remarks come as Vice President Mike Pence traveled to South Korea Monday, saying the “era of strategic patience is over.”

On Sunday, North Korea launched a KN-15 medium-range ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan. Both the United States Military and the South Korean Armed Forces say that the test failed almost immediately after it was launched. The test came after a day of celebration for North Korea’s Eternal President Kim Il-sung.

The United States Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, said “yet another … The United States has spoken enough about North Korea. We have no further comment.”.
