New York, New York—Index crimes continue to decline in New York City. When comparing 2015 through October 31st, versus the same period in 2014, crime is down 3.1 percent or 2,817 fewer crimes, the NYPD said.

The NYPD has just shot a perp in Queens at 109-34 142 Street and 111 Avenue. Officers are requesting EMS forthwith for the perp, as well as an officer who was injured in the incident. It is still unknown why the officer shot the perp.
