Officials Say People May Be Trapped Inside ‘Ice Cave’ In WA.

Snohomish County, WASHINGTON — Sheriff Officials confirmed in a tweet they are conducting a search for people that may be trapped in a partially collapsed ice-cave

The location is the Big Four Ice Caves in the North Cascades.

Snohomish County officials said in a tweet: “Responding to Partial Collapse of Big 4 Ice Caves with possible injured inside of the Ice Cave.”

According to the Washington Trails Association, the Big Four Ice Caves are located in the North Cascades near the Mountain Loop Highway (see map below). The caves highest point is 1938 feet. The trail to the caves is 2.2. miles roundtrip.
