Couple Arrested in Child Gang Rape, Police Believe There May Be Other Victims

TORONTO — On Tuesday, November 24, 2015, members of the Child and Youth Advocacy Centre arrested a man and his fiancée for the Gang Sexual Assault of a 14-year-old girl.

The man is a math tutor and he was the 14-year-old girl’s teacher for a number of years, police said.

His fiancée had volunteered at the same school. The couple befriended the girl.

The victim attended the home of the couple, in the Lawrence Avenue East and The Donway East area, on numerous occasions.

In the summer of 2014, the girl was sexually assaulted at the home by the couple.

Kevin Chan, 32, and Kayla Drumonde, 23, of Toronto, are each charged with Gang Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference.

Police believe there may be other victims. Kevin Chan has been affiliated with numerous Toronto-area schools working as a private math tutor and volunteering.
