WASHINGTON — A suspicious package was being investigated near the White House Monday evening, the Secret Service said. The contents were later cleared and the owner was located.
The scene was near Pennsylvania Avenue and 15th.
Lafayette Park and the North fence line of the White House were closed.
DC police were on scene along with the Secret Service.
