ATLANTA — Police in Atlanta confirmed an officer-involved shooting at or near the Aloft Hotel Monday night.
West Peachtree and Baker Streets were shut down due to a SWAT situation, WSB-TV reported.
Atlanta Police now say the incident downtown is ‘contained’ and SWAT has been cancelled. The area around 300 Spring St was sealed off. A perimeter was established.
There was a massive police presence in the area.
The hotel is across the street from the Atlanta Convention Center.
No further details were available.
