KANSAS – 9-year-old Kaiser Carlile, a batboy for the Liberal Bee Jays, has died after being accidentally struck Saturday at a National Baseball Congress World Series game.
The team said in a statement Sunday: “With the permission of the family, and with much sorrow and a very broken heart, I regretfully inform everyone that Kaiser Carlile passed away earlier this evening. Please keep his family and our team in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all for the support during this ordeal!”

A player had unintentionally  hit him during a warmup swing as the boy was retrieving a bat

From CNN: McCaffrey said he heard the bat collide with Kaiser, who was wearing a helmet, before he took a few steps back and fell.

“Just to see him fall, that’s what crushes you,” he said.
The Bee Jays went on to win the emotional game over the San Diego Waves 12-5 in 13 innings.
