California Bus Crash Leaves At least One Dead And 21 Injured

A crash between a small bus and two cars in Southern California has left at least one person dead and more than 20 injured.

The horrific crash took place around 12:00 noon Monday on Highway 58 in Ridgecrest, about 2 miles east of Highway 395 in the Mojave Desert.

San Bernardino County Fire Department pronounced one dead at the scene and extrication was in progress for other victims trapped.

The California Highway Patrol said in a short statement that six of the 21 people hurt have major injuries.

At least six helicopters were requested to the scene to airlift the critical victims, but they were all declined to fly due to bad weather conditions in the area. All critical patients were being transported by ground.
