On Wednesday, the New York City Police Department released body camera footage captured by two police officers who discharged their weapons on November 13, 2017 in the Bronx – in the confines of the 48th Precinct.
Two officers responded to a call for an assault in progress with a knife at 1974 Hughes Ave at approximately 7:48 PM. During their response to this call, the officers encountered two female victims in the lobby who sustained knife wounds.
The officers then confronted Cornell Lockhart, a 67 year old male in the lobby, who was armed with a knife in his right hand. After repeated commands, the officers discharged their firearms a total of nine times, striking Mr. Lockhart, who succumbed to his injuries.
