NEWPORT, Ore. — A woman reportedly threw her son off the Yaquina Bay Bridge in Newport Monday night, the News Lincoln County reports.
The Coast Guard confirmed to KGW they were searching for a victim in the water at the bridge.
The woman allegedly told police she heard voices telling her to throw the 6-year-old boy over the side of the bridge, NLC reports. She called 911 shortly after, around 6:50 p.m.
Police have reportedly taken the woman into custody.
