Britain is set to build a HUGE wall at Calais in an attempt to keep migrants from illegally entering the country.

Britain’s immigration minister confirmed today that work on the wall will ‘start very soon.’

The new 13ft concrete wall will replace an ineffective fencing that has failed to stop migrants targeting British trucks to enter the country.

Immigration minister Robert Goodwill told the Commons home affairs committee last night that the wall would halt the flow of migrants and keep drivers safe.

“The security that we are putting in at the port is being stepped up with better equipment.

“We are going to start building this big new wall very soon. We’ve done the fence, now we are doing a wall.”

“The security that we are putting in at the port is being stepped up with better equipment. We are going to start building this big new wall very soon as part of the £17 million package we are doing with the French.”

French police commissioner Patrick Visser-Bourdon has claimed there were 22,000 breaches of the port road defences in June 2016.
