VOLUSIA COUNTY, Florida — Jonathan Rollason-Elliott, a suspect accused of kicking his way into his ex-girlfriend’s home, firing a gun and punching her in the face, was arrested around 9:35 a.m. after he returned to the victim’s home.

A deputy was conducting an extra patrol in the area when he noticed the front door of the victim’s house was ajar and had been spray-painted. Well aware of the violence that had transpired there overnight, deputies cleared the house and found it in disarray with the curtains cut and vulgar, derogatory comments spray-painted on the walls. Deputies then located Rollason-Elliott hiding in the attic. He surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies recovered a .25-caliber Beretta handgun, a baggie of suspected methamphetamine and a smoking device from the suspect’s attic hiding spot. He received new charges of armed burglary, possession of methamphetamine, criminal mischief and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Those are in addition to his pre-existing charges of armed burglary, aggravated assault with a firearm and domestic battery, for which a judge signed a warrant with no bond allowed pending first appearance.
