FONTANA, CA — (News Release / FPD) — On Monday October 24th at 9:14 pm, Fontana Police and San Bernardino County Fire & Paramedics responded to a medical aid of a two year old female child not breathing at a residence on the 16700 block of Slover Ave.
The child was subsequently declared deceased at the scene. Fontana Police detectives responded and took over the investigation. The investigation revealed significant evidence of neglect and abuse against the child, which is believed to have contributed to the child’s death. Detectives arrested the child’s mother (Cheyenne Cobb)-20 years old and (Jon Palechek)-47 years old for felony child abuse causing death.
Cobb is the child’s biological mother. Palechek is the step-father to Cobb. Both suspects were booked into West Valley Detention Center.
