A woman from China pretended to faint in order to get out of being fined for the crossing offence in Fujian Province.
She was caught crossing the road during a red light.
When the policeman stopped her, she dropped to her knees and begged the officer not to give her a ticket as it was her first offence.
He then knelt down to calmly speak with the woman telling her that he had no choice but to follow regulations.
After a few minutes, when she realized her tactics weren’t working, she began to shout at the officer.
When this also didn’t work, she stepped it up a gear by lying on the road for ten minutes complaining of dizziness.
As she lay there on the ground, the officer returned to his traffic management duties.
However as soon as his full attention was on the traffic, the woman disappeared into the crowd.
The officer said: ‘She walked away really fast. She was nothing like the sick person she said she was while she was lying on the floor.’
In Shenzhen this year, jaywalkers caught in the act have been made to wear green hats and help direct the traffic.
