Cleveland police investigate two kidnappings; 12-year-old taken to abandoned house

OHIO — Cleveland Police are investigating two kidnapping/robbery incidents which occurred in close proximity, same time of day and involving a similarly described suspect. It is unknown at this time if the suspect is the same in each incident.

On February 1, 2018, an 18 year old male was walking in the area of W. 67 and Clark Ave. at approximately 7am when he was grabbed by a black male and punched, the male dragged the boy down the street and threatened him with a knife. The boy was able to break free and run.

On February 13, 2018, a at approximately 630am, a 12 year old male was walking in the area of W. 39/Denison Ave when he was grabbed by a black male and taken to an abandoned home. The suspect attempted to rob the child, but the child had nothing other than school supplies. The child was able to break free and run.

In both instances the suspect is described as a black male, 6’2, approximately 200 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 216-623-5218. Criminal activity should be reported immediately by calling 9-1-1.
