Schlagel told the officers that there were four people that attempted to break into his apartment by cutting a hole in the closet wall. He told officers that he believed that he shot all of them as they tried to break in.

Officers located multiple spent ammunition rounds on the floor; they also checked the closet and located multiple rounds that had been shot into the closet wall.

Some of the shots exited the wall and went to Schlagel’s bathroom. There were no signs of forced entry through the closet wall.

Schlagel was arrested and charged with Felony Reckless Conduct. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Officers applied for a search warrant that was granted by a Judge for Schlagel’s apartment. As a result the following items were seized; 201 different gun magazines, 10 thousand plus rounds of ammunition, 4 pistols, 2 rifles, and 1 shotgun.
