Counterterrorism agents nab man at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of preparing for terrorist acts

LONDON — Officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command have arrested a 30-years-old man at London Heathrow Airport as he disembarked a flight from Istanbul, Turkey.

The man has been arrested on suspicion for ‘preparing for terrorist acts and terrorist training contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006,’ Met police said.

He has been taken to a south London police station where he is being interrogated.

Officers are also currently searching a residential address in east London.

The investigation is ongoing.
